Jimmy Kimmel Live
We were the first to arrive at Jimmy Kimmel around 4:30. We were so excited and got busy taking pictures.

Not long after people began arriving. It was hot and the line coordinators had us squeezed into a small area. A little while later the Gamer Girls handed out tee shirts and Gamer energy drinks.
About 6:00 we were finally inside the staging area where we stood some more, but it was at least air conditioned. We were seated in about the 4th or 5th row with a straight view of where Jimmy and the guests sit. I was right next to the camera. It's stadium seating so we were also at eye level. No, we weren't in the front rows because they are saved for the VIP guests. If you taped the show you can see us in the audience, especially Barbara with her beautiful fuchsia blouse.
The audience warmer, Don, began working the crowd and a few minutes into it my shoe fell off my foot! It landed behind the seat of the guy in front of Annette who was next to me. Soon all of us were distracted with trying to figure out how to get my shoe back. One of the people in front of us noticed what was going on and they told the young man in front of Annette to get my shoe. Soon the row in front of us were all trying to get my shoe back for me. Once I got my shoe back the entire audience and Don, the audience warmer, were staring at us.
Don asked something like, "What's going on? Is there a private party going on?"
I said, "I lost my shoe."
Don said, "Are you trying to pick up men by throwing your shoe at them?"
The young man in front of me said something like, "It's working," and he began rubbing my leg!
Don the audience warmer continued with his act, but every once in a while would pick on me about throwing my shoe at men. Later he gave me a souvenir for teasing me, a key chain with Jimmy Kimmel Live printed on it.
The show started, all I heard was blah blah blah until the Gerard came out. Gorgeous! There he was sitting in front of us and he was his usual fun self.
At the commercial break we were probably at the edge of our seats hoping he would look up at the audience. All the support staff came on to the stage to touch up makeup, set up the Wacky Wire, and talk to Jimmy. All I thought was, GET OUT OF THE DAMN WAY!!
Then everyone was gone, leaving Gerard standing on the stage. He looked up and smiled while he looked at each and every one of us. He looked back at me and pointed with his finger with a big grin and shook his head looking at all of us again.

When show resumed, Jimmy and Gerard were a crack up with the Wacky Wire and the donut story! OMG the donut story!
After Nate's interview we were directed out of the studio to the outside concert stage to see the taping of the musical guest, The Used, which will be shown next Friday. We didn't stay long and had to walk around to the front of the building to retrieve our cameras.
Another fun night in Hollywood!

Jimmy Kimmel Live
Last Night my friend and I went to another taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show. My friend heard that one of Jimmy's guests was going to be Brendan Fraser so I was happy to come along when she got tickets. He had great seats again, closer to the band.
Brendan was funny and goofy. He's very tall in person. I've seen many of his films through out his career and last night he was there to talk about his new film Ink Heart which opens today Friday, January 23, 2009.

The second guest was Jonathan Goodwin. Jonathan has a new show on the Discovery Channel, One Way Out, which premieres on Monday, January 26th. Jonathan did a Houdini like stunt. While tied up in a straight jacket, hanging upside down, and his head submerged in a big plastic bin of water, he had to escape. While he held his breath they timed how long it took him to get free. Needless to say, we held our breath too while he contorted and wiggled to free himself from the straight jacket!

After the stunt we were escorted out of the main studio and into the lobby of the building where the musical guest, Blake Shelton and his band, had their instruments set up on a small stage. We all gathered around while they preformed two songs. It was a nice mini concert.

Happy Birthday Maree!
We started the night with seeing the taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live and then off we went to dinner at Shin.
We had the best time, Simon Shin gave us VIP service!
He bought Maree a drink, a Martini at dinner, then after dinner we sang Happy Birthday to her when they brought her a special dessert with a candle to blow out.

Jimmy Kimmel Live
Last Night, January 7th, my friends and I went to the taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show. The Studio was a lot smaller than The Tonight Show with Jay Leno studio but larger than The Late Show with Craig Ferguson. We were happy with our seats, we weren't seated in the front, a straight view of Jimmy and the guests, but like I said the studio was small so there wasn't a bad seat in the studio.
We had the extra treat of seeing Anne Hathaway, who is the guest for tonight, Thursday January 8th, but they taped is last night, kind of like what they do for Craig Ferguson.
It was especially nice to see Anne since she acted opposite James McAvoy in Becoming Jane, my most favorite James McAvoy movie. After Jimmy finished the interview he changed his tie and talked to people on the stage.
Once the real show taping finally began Jimmy performed his monologue and then his Aunt and his Uncle Sal were there, his Aunt was a hoot, poor thing, well maybe, poor Jimmy, he did different pranks to see how fast it would take for her to get mad. It was never long, how Uncle Sal was married to her is unbelievable!
Ron Howard was the first guest, he was cool, just a regular guy. It's still hard to believe Opie is a major director now. His stories of how he includes his family in his movies were great to hear, but his poor dad, always cut from the movies!
Then the highlight of the night, Jeffrey Dean Morgan! All I can say is, he looked really HOT! He saw us in the audience waving madly at him, his face lit up. He was there to promote Grey's Anatomy, but Jimmy showed a picture of him as the Comedian in Watchmen we cheered loudly, his smiled was even bigger. Then he talked about Comic Con, of course we cheered even louder.
Jeffrey's head popped up and pointed, he said something like "You were there!"
He waved at us again at the end of the interview, of course we were thrilled! When he was off camera and getting ready to leave he shook every one's hand on the stage, he turned to the audience and waved goodbye again!
Sorry no pictures, all cameras and camera phones had to be checked at the door or left in our cars.
