Jimmy Kimmel Live

Last Night my friend and I went to another taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show. My friend heard that one of Jimmy's guests was going to be Brendan Fraser so I was happy to come along when she got tickets. He had great seats again, closer to the band.

Brendan was funny and goofy. He's very tall in person. I've seen many of his films through out his career and last night he was there to talk about his new film Ink Heart which opens today Friday, January 23, 2009.

The second guest was Jonathan Goodwin. Jonathan has a new show on the Discovery Channel, One Way Out, which premieres on Monday, January 26th. Jonathan did a Houdini like stunt. While tied up in a straight jacket, hanging upside down, and his head submerged in a big plastic bin of water, he had to escape. While he held his breath they timed how long it took him to get free. Needless to say, we held our breath too while he contorted and wiggled to free himself from the straight jacket!

After the stunt we were escorted out of the main studio and into the lobby of the building where the musical guest, Blake Shelton and his band, had their instruments set up on a small stage. We all gathered around while they preformed two songs. It was a nice mini concert.

Movie Reviews

WALL-E
I loved the movie. I’m amazed how a little machine, with almost no dialog, can make you love him in a matter of minutes. Afterwards, I wanted eat a Twinkie, pick up trash, and pop in my VHS of “Hello Dolly”.

Hellboy II
My son and I are both fans of the first Hellboy so we were thrilled when we received a prescreening invitation. We laughed out loud when Hellboy and Abe were drunk and sang to Berry Manilow's “Can’t Smile Without You”.

Journey to the center of the Earth
I had missed two opportunities to see the movie a few weeks ago and I was excited when I received another invitation, I wasn’t going to miss it again! The movie had interesting twist on the Jules Verne novel. The 3D effects we great, all the children in the audience seemed to like it, but Moms, you will enjoy it too. My girlfriend and I elbowed each other a few times, Brendan Fraser didn’t disappoint.
