The Losers Premiere

I can't sleep! I'm home from Hollywood after seeing the premiere of The Losers with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, and Idris Elba. I had the pleasure of bringing four friends who are Jeffrey Dean Morgan fans, most of which had never been to a Hollywood movie premiere. The red carpet was tented because of the rainy forecast, but of course, since I brought my huge umbrella, the rain had stopped by the time I arrived at Grauman's Chinese Theater.

Once inside the theater. we settled into our seats and waited what seemed like forever for the movie to begin. I can't complain, we had been let into the theater earlier than usual because of the weather, which was cold and windy by then. I did spot Sandy Morgan, Jeffrey's mom, about 6 rows behind me. We took a trip to the restroom and saw Kate Beckinsale in the lobby. She seemed to be very approachable and accommodating to fans who greeted her and asked to have a picture with her or an autograph.

Not long after we made it back to our seats, the movie began. We never saw any of the cast members before it began. (More about movie later)

After the movie we made our way to the lobby. We saw camera flashes to the left of us so we made our way in that direction and saw that it was Kate in the middle of the crowd taking pictures with fans.

Just as we were turning to walk the other direction I almost bumped into Chris Evans who was headed in the opposite direction. Charity, who was with me is a huge Chris fan and wanted to meet him. I called out, "Chris." But he kept on walking, not making eye contact, pretty much looking down at the ground.

A woman following him turned to us with the expression as if to say sorry. She said, "He has to pee."

Chris walked about five feet, saw the crowd of people around Kate Beckinsale, and then turned around (he would have had to go through the crowd around Kate to get to the men's restroom). He looked at us as he walked by. This time, the woman said sorry as she continued to follow Chris. I guess he really had to pee. LOL! Charity was just happy she got to see Chris Evans in person.

We decided to go outside to the courtyard. It wasn't long when I turned and saw Jeffrey Dean Morgan walking out the doors alone towards Charity and I in long legged strides. He reached Charity first. She was frozen looking up at him as had he already taken the sharpie out of her hand and autographing her movie ticket. He autographed my picture next. Next thing we knew we were surrounded by fans greeting him and asking for his autograph or a picture.

We were stuck and couldn't move as Jeffrey was swarmed. He turned 360 degrees signing autographs. He ended back facing me and signed another picture I had in my hand. That was when he stole my sharpie while he continued to sign autographs frantically.

Bodyguards appeared from nowhere and tried to get the crowd to back away. Of course Charity and I couldn't go anywhere because we were trapped. Jeffrey was in front of me. I told the bodyguard next to me I wanted to get my pen back from Jeffrey. He nodded. I placed my hand on Jeffrey's back attempting to get his attention to get it back so I could get out of the way, but he was still frantically signing. So I gave up. Eventually he was able to escape to a waiting limousine along with my sharpie in his hand! LOL!

We caught up with the rest of our group at the Roosevelt Hotel to have a wonderful dinner recapping the exciting night.

The Losers Screening

Last night I braved the pouring rain to attend an early screening of The Losers with my girlfriends. The movie wasn't 100% complete, some CGI needs to be improved/reworked and I hope they give a little more punch to the ending. (Not much time for an April 9th opening)

Great fight scenes, lots of nonstop action, and great one liners. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evens, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, and Oscar Jaenada worked well together as a modern A-Team.

Chris Evens is hysterical, with lots of one liners, everyone laughed out loud. The elevator scene really had the audience laughing and clapping. Which also leads to great song selection - Chris does a little singing. LOL!

There were lots of close ups on Jeffrey throughout the movie, you won't be disappointed, but I wanted to see more of him than Zoe Saldana in the sex scenes. Zoe is great in the fight scene against Jeffrey, literally HOT.

Our group was asked to stay for a focus group (funny, four women, I would have thought we were out of the demographic). Maybe Warner Brothers has finally realized women love action movies too! I look forward to seeing the finished movie.

A Wonderful Day

Yesterday was a big day with weeks in planning. My girlfriends and I had VIP tickets to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to see my #1, Gerard Butler. Gerard was a hoot as usual. He waved at us several times, he couldn't miss us, we took up a whole row at the center above John Melendez.

Attending the Jay Leno Show is usually enough for one day, but we also had tickets to the Premiere of RocknRolla at the Cinerama Dome! We were concerned we would be able to make it from Burbank to Hollywood at 5:00 p.m. on a Monday afternoon during the height of traffic, but one of the girls, Annette came up with a brilliant idea, why not hire a driver? Annette's idea worked perfectly, Jamie, our driver, delievered us at the Cinerama Dome by 5:35 p.m.!

We settled into our seats and waited for the movie to start. A few of us went to the lobby to go to the restroom and we could see Idris Elba and Gerard through the windows (the entire front of the theater are windows) working the red carpet and then we saw Tom Hardy come into the lobby after finishing with his red carpet duties. We stayed as long as we could, but then the ushers began clearing the lobby to go to our seats. Shortly after we were back in our seats the movie began. The movie was great in that theater, large screen and terrific sound system.

After the movie was over we went to the lobby, it was very crowded. One of the girls, Lynnette said, "He just went outside." I was a little ahead of her so I made my way outside and there was Gerard at the side walk with Allen, his manager, and Joy, his handler. People were greeting and hugging him. I waited for him to be free and then he autographed my picture my friend Marcy had taken of him at Comic Con.



It was a wonderful day with all things Gerard and my girlfriends.

Movie Review ~ RocknRolla

RocknRolla pre screening in Hollywood @ the Montalban

My friends and I had a great night in Hollywood last night. The event was sold out with many turned away. We of course arrived early and had no problems getting our tickets. The doors opened with a party, lots of food and drink as well as popcorn, candy, and sodas. The people from Flux, Nike, and the Montalban put on a wonderful event, I look forward to more events in the future!

The movie was bit delayed in starting, a man came out on stage to welcome everyone and to announce the film, he also told us there would be a Q&A after the screening with Idris Elba and invited us to stay for the after party.

Finally the movie began, unfortunately the sound system wasn't the best, which didn't help out me out with understanding the dialogue. For me, I was lost with what they were saying because the accents were soooo thick, including Gerard Butler’s wonderful Scottish brogue. The rest of my friends were fine, but I always have difficulty and have to watch British movies with subtitles, especially when they are speaking fast. I know, you'd think I wouldn't have any problems by now, but that just means I have to watch the movie at least a dozen times! LOL!

The movie was hysterical, the audience laughed out loud thoughout, I laughed so much that my thoat is a bit sore. The audience was a good mix of people, mostly young people which was great. The people in line ahead and behind us were there because they are Guy Richie fans.

I'll try not to give too much away, so spoiler alert!

The dance scene was a hoot! I want to see that scene all spliced together in a continuous loop, as well as the second dance scene! LOL! I hope Guy Richie has some great deleted scenes for us when the DVD is released. The scene between Handsome Bob and One Two is sooo funny, Gerard’s range of emotions; shock, anger, the sincere apology, and then -- typical guy, "What did you want to do to me?" (or something like that) LOL!

Afterwards we walked down the street and found a French cafe so we could unwind and discuss the movie without having to yell because of the loud music. I finally pulled up into my driveway about 1:00 am… a wonderful night in Hollywood with the Girls.

I can't wait to see it again tomorrow night! Thank goodness for another screening at the Grove, I know that theater's sound system will be much better and it will be a calmer environment so that I can really concentrate on the movie.
